Meet Mrs. Theissen
Allison_5_2_3
Hello!  My name is Allison Theissen and I am so excited to introduce myself as the new science teacher at Prosperity Heights Elementary for the 2009 - 2010 school year.  I have heard some really amazing things about this school and can't wait to get to know the students and staff. Let me tell you a little about myself.  I have been teaching in St. Paul Schools for 10 years.  I absolutely LOVE being a teacher.  I taught 3rd grade for three years and 4th grade for seven years.  Last year I took the year off to spend time with my three children, ages 5, 4, and 1.  It was a wonderful year and now I am coming back very energized and excited about teaching science at Prosperity Heights! During the 09-10 school year, I will be teaching science to students in grades 3 - 6.  I will be teaching science every morning until 11:15.  The best times to reach me are from 7:15am - 8:00am, or from 10:40am - 11:05am.   In my spare time I enjoy camping, reading, gardening, scrapbooking and just spending time with my family.  I also teach piano lessons.  This year my family and I planted our first vegetable garden and are excited to see/taste the results.  We also began composting and are even using a rain barrel in our garden. One of the most exciting things that we did this summer was raised 26 monarch butterflies from egg to monarch!  It was so much fun to watch the amazing transformations take place. I look forward to an amazing year at Prosperity Heights!
