We have had a great start to the school year! The 5th graders have been busy learning all about organisms and the environments that they live in. We planted terrariums and watched them germinate and grow. We also did an experiment to test the water tolerance of seeds. In addition to learning about seeds and plants, we also looked at the preferred environments for darkling beetles and isopods. The 5th graders also had a field experience at Fort Snelling State Park! Thanks to the Prosperity Heights PTG, we are going to be able to go to the state park three times this school year. Our fall trip turned out to be a beautiful fall day and perfect for a nature walk through the woods. The experience tied in perfectly with our environment curriculum. See the photos below! We have two more trips planned this school year.
