My
name is Bridget Stewart and I will be your child’s first grade teacher.I have taught at Prosperity Heights for
12 years and this is my 8th year as a first grade teacher. I have been married
for 9 years to my husband Kevin and have two wonderful children, Isabella (5)
and Maxwell (2). I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, traveling,
reading, and going on walks around the lakes.
I
hope you had a good summer with your family and friends.I am so excited for the upcoming school
year and am looking forward to being your child’s teacher this year. Your child
will learn so much in first grade and will be able to read and write this year.
Your child will also learn how to tell time, add, subtract, and count money.
You will be so proud of all your child’s hard work and success in first grade!
I
will be sending home a bi-weekly newsletter with information about events at
school, spelling words to study, special celebrations, and a summary of what
your child is learning in all subject areas. In addition, expect your child to
bring home daily homework in math and reading. If you need to contact me with
any questions or concerns, please call me at school at 651-293-8695 or e-mail me
at bridget.stewart@spps.org.
Remember that your child has reading homework and needs to read for 20 minutes every night.
Also, most nights your child will have math homework. Be sure to check for it and talk about it with your child.
