Prosperity Parent/Teacher Group (PTG) Minutes from meeting of May 9, 2006
Present: Hadiza Edekin-Odion, Geri Kuehl, Marilyn Lindstrom, Mary Albert, Sharon Freeman
In the absence of the chair, Naomi Jackson, the principal, Sharon Freeman, led the meeting. She passed out the treasurer’s report in the absence of the treasurer, Stacey Eastep. There is a currently a balance of $3,358.23 in the checking account. We did make commitments to pay the following anticipated expenses: • Kgtn bus to Hugo animal farm $200 • 2nd Steps kits for the social worker $410? • Date/planner books for 5th & 6th grades $300 • Track & Field Bus for Eastside meet $90.50 • Reader’s notebooks for Mrs. Miller $250 After these expenses are paid there should still be enough money left to fund the carnival supplies in the fall.
Marilyn Lindstrom presented a Chuck E. Cheese fundraiser that was given to her from Maggie Killeen. It is on the same order as the one at Culver’s, where our school would receive 15% of the proceeds on a certain date. We would just need to advertise to get customers; we would not need to work that evening. It was agreed to table this suggestion for now, as we would like to continue to pursue the Culver’s fundraiser.
Questions from the meeting: • Is there a June fundraiser at Culver’s? • Will there be a carnival planning meeting this spring? • Should there be a card or some small remembrance for Staff Appreciation Week? • Who will be the secretary for the group? • Could we have an agenda for each meeting? • Could we have a checkbook balance at each meeting?
Meeting adjourned 7:00
Respectfully submitted,
Marilyn Lindstrom
