| Our Social Worker |  | I'm Jane Butterfoss, School Social Worker at Prosperity Heights. I am very happy to be back; I think our school gets better every year!
Before coming to Prosperity Heights, I worked with children and families at the Wilder Foundation and at Big Brothers and Big Sisters. I also have been involved as a parent at the St. Paul Schools attended by my 3 children, so I know how important it is for parents and schools to work together.
I will be meeting with children individually and in small groups to help them be more successful at school. I participate on the school Child Study Team (evaluating students to decide if Special Education assistance is needed), Family Support Team (setting up support services in school to help students), and Attendance Team (working with families and Ramsey County to improve school attendance). I also teach the Steps to Respect and Second Steps (social skills and anti-bullying) programs in classrooms.
If something is happening at home that might affect your child in school, please let the teacher know or call me. I will be at school Monday through Thursday this year and enjoy meeting and talking to parents. I'm looking forward to a productive year working with your children!
