The sixth graders have been working hard on the Models and Designs unit this fall. Using a bag full of supplies that included paperclips, a battery, a motor, a bell, wooden sticks and more, they built simple machines called "humdingers".
The goal was to create a model that 1) hummed and 2) had a ding. We had a great success rate!
As we moved on in our unit, the students then created go carts that were self-propelled and traveled at least 2 meters on flat ground. This was a challenge, but many students had success!
