Viking Player Visits Prosperity Heights

Minnesota Viking #49, Tony Richardson, visited Prosperity Heights on Tuesday, December 11th.  He came as a representative for the Midwest Dairy Council to promote their 3-A-Day program.  Students were encouraged to eat three servings of dairy products each day, such as milk, cheese or yogurt.  Mr. Richardson worked with the fourth grade students as they participated in the Strong Bones Training Camp.  They exercised their muscles at various stations emphasizing the importance of daily physical activity.  Mr. Richardson also visited all 5th and 6th grade classrooms to spread the message of healthy eating, physical activity and the importance of academics.  He stressed that the foundation of good study habits begins now. Taking good care of your body and mind lead to a successful life.

Students in grades 4-6 participated in an essay contest.  The theme was “Why the 3-A-Day Program and physical activity are important.”  Fourteen contest winners received an autographed mini-football and backpack.

Thanks to the Midwest Dairy Council, all students received a frozen “Go-Gurt “ treat at lunch that day.  The students loved it!
