Mrs. Amaya teaches reading and writing. For SFA reading, she teaches a small first grade reading group. For writing, she works with first grade teacher Mrs. Stewart and fourth grade teacher Mrs. Geislinger in writer's workshop. In addition, she teaches a large fifth grade writing group with Mr. Fleming, and a trimester course on literary nonfiction for sixth graders.
