Parent/Teacher/Guardian Group (PTG) PTG members What is the Parent/Teacher/Guardian Group (PTG)? This group consists of any parent who wishes to help plan fundraisers, a teachers appreciation dinner, and the annual school carnival. The principal, Aly Xiong, attends the meetings, along with the Family Involvement Coordinator, Marilyn Lindstrom. PTG provides a place to communicate the needs of students and the school, and provides an opportunity for parents to contribute. The PTG has a leader, a secretary, and a treasurer. The following parents and staff are serving for the 2007-08 school year: Leader – Naomi Jackson Secretary – open Co-Treasurers – Becky Gonzalez, Marilyn Lindstrom Listed below are some of the ways PTG has helped in the past: •assignment notebooks for 5th & 6th grades •paper products for Multicultural Event • notebooks for Readers Workshop •social/emotional learning kits •animal farm field trip for Kindergarten • buses for various events •staff appreciation dinner during fall conferences There are no dues. The group will meet on a Tuesday of the following months at 6:00 p.m.; September 18, November 27, January 22, March 11 and May 27. The meetings usually last an hour.
