| Site Council at Prosperity Heights | | What is the Site Council?
The Site Council is a group consisting of parents, teachers, the school principal, and community members who learn how the school is run and what the school budget includes. Members have a voice in school decisions. A Site Council meeting is a place where parents can bring ideas and suggestions, and have an opportunity to hear how the school staff is meeting the goal of raising student achievement.
Discussion topics at a meeting may include:
•school funding and staffing for the year
•interpretation of the MN Comprehensive Assessment (MCA) test results
•revision of the Parent/Family Involvement Guidelines
•new ideas for the School Comprehensive Improvement Plan (SCIP)
•parent suggested topics
A free light supper is provided, along with free childcare in the gym. The meetings usually last one hour. A Spanish interpreter will be present; a Hmong interpreter will be present upon request. All parents are welcome!
